Float your cares away at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Castaway Creek and meander through the lush vegetation of this tropical oasis.

According to legend, a typhoon once ripped across central Florida, creating an inland sea, tossing boats atop mountain peaks, and transforming what once was a fruit packing plant into what we now call Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.
The storm that created the lagoon also created another attraction that’s quite relaxing compared to the slides that race down Typhoon Lagoon’s Mount Mayday. Castaway Creek is a scenic river that allows its swimmers to enjoy its views and gently flowing waters. The creek gives its Guests much-needed r-n-r as they float lazily along the current.

Castaway Creek, although void of thrills, is still an incredible attraction. The creek makes a winding path all around Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, passing through Mount Mayday, the mountain that houses the shrimp boat Miss Tilly; rainforests; waterfalls; and even under rope bridges. The sights are visually fun to spot, with plenty of finds all around the creek tying into the theme of the park.

Personally, one of the main things I like to tell people when going to Typhoon Lagoon is to give yourself time to get explore all around the park. Castaway Creek is no exception; enjoy all the treats for the eyes while relaxing along the way.

Today’s Takeaway:
Summer is in full swing here in the United States, so Today’s Takeaway will be a little different. I invite you to try an oldie-but-goodie app for mobile devices called Where’s My Water? Each level is a challenging physics-based puzzle inspired by the Walt Disney World water parks. The game uses the physics of water to cut through dirt to guide fresh water, dirty water, toxic water, steam, and ooze through increasingly challenging scenarios.
When they learn while they play with Where’s My Water?, your kids can discover different states of water, utilize problem-solving skills for puzzle solutions, and understand that water conservation and stewardship are important because every drop counts! The game is compatible with Android, iPad, and iPhone. You’ll find it in your app store. It’s a great way to pass the time when it’s just too hot—or the air quality is uninviting—to play outdoors.
Take the challenge and have fun!
