Did you know this week’s Tiggerific Tuesday #DisneyTrivia about Disneyland Resort Paris’ location?

Disneyland Resort Paris is located in Marne-la-Vallee, a suburb of Paris located approximately 20 miles to the east. Four locations were considered for the Resort’s placement, two in Spain and two in France. While Spain’s climate would have been more appealing, The Walt Disney Company and its partners felt France had more international draw. The alternative French location was in the southern portion of the country near Marseille and also offered a milder climate. However, the Paris location won out because the city was already an international tourist hotspot, it offered excellent road and rail links with major European cities, and had a large international airport within a 45-minute drive.
Thanks for the great trivia this week, Jodi! I figured that DLP was there in part because of the draw of Paris, but I never really knew about the other locations! Thanks for sharing!
Someday I hope to make it to Disneyland Paris! Thank you for the fun trivia. I think any spot they would of chosen would of been romantic and worth the trip. đ
I’m glad they chose Paris. I’d like to visit Paris and of course, I’d LOVE to visit Disneyland Paris.
I didn’t know any of that! My problem is that WHEN (no ifs on that one) I make it to Paris, will I really take time out of my trip for DLRP? I mean, yeah, probably, but there is so much to see and do already!
Friends of ours visited Disneyland Paris a few years ago, and brought me back a pin. đ One of these days, maybe I’ll actually make it over there.
