What Main Street, U.S.A., is to Disneyland Park, Buena Vista Street is to Disney California Adventure. This grand theme park entrance does more than pave a way toward exciting attractions. It gives Guests direct access to a unique Walt Disney experience.
Buena Vista Street represents an idealized version of the Los Angeles Walt encountered when he stepped off the train from Kansas City back in 1923. Like Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios is “the Hollywood that never was and always will be,” buildings along the Buena Vista path are not just reproductions; they are reimagined versions of the Southern California that never was but always existed in Walt’s vision.
Disney Parks describes how the Art Deco storefronts, Spanish-tile roofs, wrought-iron balconies, hand-laid tile mosaics and shade trees offer up a “spirit of optimism and opportunity,” beginning with the Pan-Pacific Auditorium-inspired front gate and continuing all the way through the set to the magnificent Carthay Circle Theater recreation. Find boutiques and department stores, candy and sweet treats, cafes and lounge areas, and live entertainment along Buena Vista Street, or simply play tourist and ride the red trolley to Hollywood Land for more great California adventures.

Today’s Takeaway:
Streetcars or trolleys, like the one that traverses Buena Vista Street, were a prevalent means of city transportation at the turn of the 20th century. Most were eventually replaced by buses; however some are still in use today.
