I still call it MGM Studios, but it does have more to offer now.

  2. Rosanne Mottola May 2, 2014 at 10:07 am #

It will always be MGM to me!

  3. Karen Griffith Blanchette May 2, 2014 at 10:10 am #

It really didn’t matter to me. I like that park regardless of the name. My kids, however, STILL call it MGM and are not at all happy with the name change! :-)

  4. Heidi Strawser May 2, 2014 at 10:11 am #

I remember when the park was new, so I probably prefer Disney-MGM Studios. But, I’m used to the name change now.

mgm! i still have a hard time saying hollywood studios lol

  6. Terri May 2, 2014 at 10:14 am #

The name change threw me for awhile – I don’t like change. ;) But I’m used to it now and typically call it “Hollywood Studios” – though, if I hear “MGM” I won’t cringe… still makes me smile.

It was MGM for me the first 3 times I visited, so it took alot of getting used to when it changed to Hollywood Studios. I’m used to calling it HS now, and now when I hear MGM, I think of Universal for some reason?! So, I guess the answer to the questions…I think I prefer Hollywood Studios now.

Winning this would be a great consolation prize for not being able to be at the anniversary celebration!! I’ve finally gotten used to the name change, but every once in a while, I’ll slip up and call it MGM.

  9. Amarissa May 2, 2014 at 10:35 am #

I’ll always have to call it MGM, but I love it anyway!

  10. Jocelyn McGaffic May 2, 2014 at 10:36 am #

I’m OK with the change. I only went one time when it was MGM back in ’96!

  11. Kimberly May 2, 2014 at 10:50 am #

For me it will always be MGM. It was my favorite park as MGM. As of a few years ago, I think MK has become my favorite park. I feel like HS needs something…and I miss things like Residential Street and having the animators actually working on new films there.

  12. Lori Stephens May 2, 2014 at 10:51 am #

My initial reaction is MGM because the name change was so hard to get used to. In thinking about it though, I do think Hollywood makes more sense becaue it is more universally recognized.

I’m okay with the change. I do think it needs another big revamp though!

    Hollywood Studios

My daughter and I love to collect pins and one of our favorite places is under the Sorceror’s hat at MGM/HS!

    • Jodi / MagicalMouseSchoolhouse May 2, 2014 at 9:15 pm #

I love the Sorcerer’s hat! I wish it were not quite so close to the Great Movie Ride, though, because it blocks the building, but it’s still very cool!

Thank you for offering this giveaway! The Disney MGM Studios was the first place I ever worked at for Walt Disney World. It holds a special place in my heart :)

To answer your question, Disney Hollywood Studios is a more appropriate name, but Disney MGM tugs at my heartstrings because of the memories created there when it was called “MGM”. – Amy Zellers

That’s very cool! I agree that the name is better now, because it doesn’t limit the Park to just MGM productions.

  19. Kimberly Searcy May 2, 2014 at 2:17 pm #

Hollywood Studios will always be MGM to me! It’s the park I remember the most as a child. Mostly because all the rides scared me and my parents couldn’t remember where we parked haha

  20. MouseFanDiane May 2, 2014 at 4:36 pm #

I will always love Disney – MGM studios

  21. Cindy B May 2, 2014 at 4:52 pm #

I liked it as MGM Studios.

  22. Cathleen King May 2, 2014 at 6:18 pm #

It wouldn’t matter to me as long as I am enjoying the park.

  23. Brooke C May 2, 2014 at 8:45 pm #

Loved all the pics from today!

  24. Desirae F May 2, 2014 at 9:08 pm #

    Hollywood Studios :)

  25. Alicia M May 2, 2014 at 9:19 pm #

I enjoyed it as MGM, and I still love it now as DHS. (Though I’d be okay if they removed the hat..) I think I’ll probably always end up calling it by MGM!!

  26. Beth Green May 2, 2014 at 9:44 pm #

I really miss MGM!!! In fact, I still call it that! I miss when it was a working studio.
