April is in the books, and what a full month it has been! We are so glad you’ve joined us here and sincerely hope you’re having fun learning while you play where Disney IS school! In case you missed any posts, let’s take a look back at April in review at Magical Mouse Schoolhouse.
This month we focused on the birthday park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which turned 15 on Earth Day. Animal Kingdom certainly lives up to its reputation that it is not a zoo. Need proof? Check it out!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been to a zoo with “live” dinosaurs! The ones at Animal Kingdom’s DINOSAUR attraction may or may not truly be alive, but I’m not going to stick around long enough to find out! Now, those featured in Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama just like to have fun–and a lot of it.
And what zoo on earth features a Yeti? AK’s Expedition Everest–Legend of the Forbidden Mountain takes Guest in, over, around, and through the Yeti’s territory on a scale replica of the highest mountain on Earth.
Oh sure, some zoos might feature wildlife in their natural habitats, but only Animal Kingdom makes Guests part of the experience. At Maharajah Jungle Trek, visitors journey through the progression of nature’s resiliency, and at the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, they become field researchers learning while they play in a training facility setting that deposits them right into the story line. Kali River Rapids plunges Guests’ whitewater rafts down the rapids and falls of the Chakranadi River, observing the wilds of nature and also the consequences of man’s lapses in properly caring for our planet. And at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Guests are taught ways to take care of the earth and the critters that call this planet home.
All that excitement can stir up an appetite, and all the world-class eateries on site clench AK’s “Not a Zoo” title! If you’re still in doubt about that, be sure to read our Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia articles from this month and check out our Wordless Wednesday photos, hop aboard our Magical Blogorail Yellow line for a tour of the Park and visit the 15 Days to 15 Years series we took part in (focusing on 2006).
