Welcome to those of you joining me from DELIGHTFULLY DISNEY and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail.
I guess it’s safe to say that getting to Walt Disney World at least once a year is something I must do. It’s something I think about from the time I leave WDW till the next time I arrive (my whole family does, actually), so yeah, it’s an obsession!
When we first started visiting the World, it was an every other year event. Last year we were fortunate to go twice! An entire calendar year will have passed before we return, though, and the days can’t tick by fast enough.
I think we booked our trip at about seven months out, and immediately the kids were asking what day we’ll go to which park and what attraction we’ll hit first. We hope to do some things we haven’t done yet, like play interactive games at Disney Quest and get swept away with water fun at Typhoon Lagoon. I made dining reservations as soon as I could and created a color-coded spreadsheet for our activities. It’s the first time I’m going in so organized. However, I doubt we’ll stick entirely to plan—what would be the fun of that?
We’re under the 60 day mark now, and we do something Disney related every day. We made a 100-link paper chain and have been tearing a piece off as we count down the days. Today we visited a local goody store, and the kids pointed out activities they can do in the car on our two day trek. My youngest wanted to start packing suitcases today, too, but I’m afraid we might need our clothes between now and the trip, lol!
What’s your Disney obsession and what do you do to feed it?
Today’s Takeaway:
Start counting down to your next Disney trip today with a paper chain. You will need as many paper strips as there are days till you arrive on property. We started ours at 100 days out, so we needed 100 strips of paper. Cut strips of construction paper about 8-10 inches long and about 2 inches wide. Loop one into a circle and secure the ends with Scotch tape. Insert next strip through that loop and secure its ends to form links. Repeat the process until you use up all the strips. Hang your chain in a good location where it will be seen each day, and don’t forget to remove one link daily! You may want to number them so you don’t lose track.
Here’s ours! 58 days…
