Preview of Disneyland Resort Paris’ 20th Anniversary

Magical Mouse Schoolhouse is thrilled to welcome back one of our wonderful Disney friends, Manda from Mandas Disney Blog! Manda is a Disneyland Resort Paris expert ūüėČ who writes for¬†Magical Blogorail Black.¬†She’s here today to give us a sneak peek at DLRP’s upcoming 20th anniversary. Thanks for joining us again, Manda!

Thank you so much, Jodi, for having me as a guest! I just love writing for the Magical Mouse Schoolhouse! :) {Always so happy to have you!}
Disneyland Paris has loads up its sleeve for the 20th Anniversary this year! It will feature the brand new Disney Magic on Parade, a new¬†permanent¬†Meet Mickey Mouse – the first of it’s kind in Disneyland Paris – and special extended opening hours to make the party last even longer! But the most exciting development for the 20th Anniversary has to be the brand new nighttime show – Disney Dreams!
This nighttime spectacular will be similar to both Fantasmic in Walt Disney World and World of Colour at Disney’s California Adventure Park. It will¬†incorporate¬†the¬†projection¬†onto water-screens elements of these shows, as well as the use of fireworks, lasers and fire! Combine this with an all new musical score and a wonderful story all about the power of dreams and you have … Disney Dreams!
Due to premier in Disneyland Paris this week, this show will be the first of its kind in Disneyland Paris! Masses of fountains have been installed in the water moat surrounding Sleeping Beauty Castle over the past few months, and a new control booth has sprung up on Central Plaza, disguised as a Parks Landscaping Department building! It fits in perfectly with its Main Street surroundings!
Another exciting fact about Disney Dreams is that it will run all year long! Until now, the end of day fireworks at Disneyland Paris only ran during the Summer, and other special seasons such as Halloween and Christmas. But Disney Dreams offers a new opportunity for an all year long schedule. There are numerous residential villages near Disneyland Paris, which has always limited the size and scale and noise of their firework spectaculars. With this new show, Disneyland Paris can finally have a nighttime show of the size and scale it deserves without the thunderous noise that huge booming fireworks bring.

The best way to see what Disney Dreams is all about is this official video from Disneyland Paris.

This gives me a goosebump attack! It looks absolutely magical and totally tear jerking!

The show itself has been rumoured to include five key acts. The opening act, “The Magic of the Second Star,” is sure to include the Second Star to the Right igniting at the top of Sleeping Beauty Castle! The second act, “The Shadow at Play,” is rumoured to have Peter Pan chasing his shadow through different Disney¬†classics, meeting some familiar faces along the way, and the third act is called “Free to Dream”!

The fourth act, “Shadow Battle,” may be a battle of sorts between Peter and his shadow…or it could be where some Villains turn up. If so, this section may include some fire effects! The final act “Dreams Can Take Us Anywhere” may include an epic firework filled finale. Ratatouille and The Hunchback of Notre Dame have also been confirmed as part of the show. I can’t wait to see how these are incorporated – both these movies were set in Paris after all! ūüėÄ

Just last Friday a video popped up on Youtube of some testing of the show. There’s no sound, but you can get a feel of what the show is going to be like. I didn’t want to watch it in case it spoiled the show for me…but I just couldn’t help myself! Check it out below if you would like to see. :)

I cannot wait to hop over to Disneyland Paris and see this show!

It’s truly a¬†revolution¬†for Disneyland Paris – unlike any other show they have ever done. Hopefully it will be a massive success. ( Who am I kidding … it’s giving me goosebumps and I haven’t even see it yet! ūüėõ )

Once again, thank you so much to Jodi for having me as a guest!! ūüėÄ {You are always welcome here!}

    Manda- what a picture you paint! We witnessed all the construction in the castle moat and adjoining stage this past summer, and feel as though we “deserve” to see the fruits of their labor! Can't wait to see and hear more from you once it opens. Thanks!

    I hope to one day visit this park. Actually I hope to visit all Disney parks someday.
